  • SS7 / MAP over SIGTRAN — MO and MT SMS toward your MSCs and HLR, including SRI-SM home routing so terminating traffic stays under your control, plus ATI helpers and alertServiceCentre-driven retries.
  • SMS HTTP API — a clean JSON-over-HTTP(S) interface to submit and receive messages, ideal for in-house platforms, customer portals and enterprise integrations.

Store-and-forward scheduling runs on a robust MariaDB/MySQL queue, so no message is lost between submission and a delivered handset.

Short code SMS handling and parking-service integrations

Short codes are where much of today’s SMS revenue lives — parking payments, voting, donations, info services, premium content. ySMSC handles short-number traffic natively and integrates directly with parking and other short-number service platforms, so you can route, charge and report on shortcode traffic without bolting on a separate gateway.

Number portability (MNP): SQLite or country-customized MySQL

Ported numbers break naive routing, and every country’s MNP regime is different. ySMSC offers two number-portability database options:

  1. SQLite NPDB — a simple, general-purpose local portability database for straightforward deployments.
  2. MySQL NPDB, customized per country — tailored to your national MNO portability system, with the lookup logic, data feeds and normalization rules your regulator’s scheme requires.

Home and treaty-area country codes are configurable, and MNP lookups feed routing decisions with proper national-format normalization — so ported numbers land correctly the first time.

Scalable SMSC clustering: smsc1, smsc2 … smscX

ySMSC is horizontally scalable: start on a single commodity server and grow into a cluster as traffic demands. Two clustering models are available:

  • DB-plane (Galera): nodes share state through a MariaDB Galera multi-master cluster.
  • Application-plane: each node runs its own database, with SMSC writes replayed peer-to-peer.

Choose the model that matches your data-center topology. Either way, you add capacity by adding nodes — not by renegotiating a license.

Control and configuration via HTTP API

The entire platform is driven by HTTP API requests for both control and configuration. Provision accounts, adjust routing, manage cluster peers and monitor operations from your orchestrator or OSS — the API and the CLI drive the same machinery underneath. Operator-made configuration overrides live in dedicated files that survive every upgrade untouched.

Real-time charging integrates over RADIUS (authorization and CDR accounting toward your OCS), with a JSON/HTTP charging bridge available for modern backends.
